Good-Byes

These are two of our 3 cats. The grey one is Flossy and the ginger one is Mr.Marbles. This photo was taken in Roses room, just 2 days before Mr.Marbles was hit by a car. This is the last photo we have of him.

We had a lovely funeral in the back yard and put some nice things on his grave.

R.I.P Mr.Marbles. We will always love you :o/

Our Big Date

On Wednesday morning it was snowing, so i took the kids out to a little cafe to have breakfast for something different to do. They didn't know you could go out for breakfast, anywhere other than maccas!
Jason had the big cooked breakfast with a banana milkshake. Rose had a croissant with jam & cream with a caramel milkshake. And i had a bit of quiche with garden salad and some raison toast with a skinny, half strength iced coffee. All that came to $41 and we probably won't do it again for a while at that price. But the kids felt very swish eating out for breaky. it was a nice breakfast with great company, and we'll remember it!

Special Decorations

This mothers day was stress free and lovely!
I usualy hide the cellotape and special paper etc from the kids. Otherwise they use it all. Then when i want some, there's none there!
Rose and Jason wanted to make a surprise mothers day banner, but they couldn't find any materials [and John wouldn't know where to look!]
So they used computer printer paper to make a banner. Wool to string it together. Band-aids to stick it to the wall. And they made a cactus out of a balloon. How cute is that? :o)

Animal House

I thought i'd introduce you to the "Other people" in the Cactus Patch, who make our days enjoyable!

Below is Princess. She is our 4yo Pug, and she rules the roost. She's my walking buddy :o)

Below is the most recent addition to our home, Mr. Marbles He's the trouble maker amoungst the animals. If there's mischief to be had, He's there!
Below is Lotus. He's 11 years old and he has human preferance over all the animals. He kinda keeps to himself. He's not angry in this photo, just trying not to go to sleep lol.

Below is Billy. He's not our cat, He belongs to a nieghbour. But the nieghbour is hardly ever home so we kinda let him hang around when he's lonely. We have to keep him in line though, because he plays a little rough for our cats' liking!

Below is Peppy. She's just over a year old and only just growing out of that kitten stage and into the boring adult stage. She's a very unattractive cat to look at! But we love her :o)

Below is a common afternoon sight. There is Hamtaro, or "Hammers" the guinea pig. And Burny the rabbit. Burny got out of the cage a while ago and we couldn't catch her to get her back in. So we just let her hop around the yard. She doesn't get into much trouble, and she knows there'll be food & water for her near the cage each afternoon. Burny and Mr Marbles are great freinds. They chase each other around the yard, and are never far away from each other in the afternoons.

We have 3 chooks and a bird avery with Zebra finches and Budgies too. I forgot to take photos, but i will at a later date :o)

Who Is The Cactus Patch?

Me, CactusFreek. My name is Sharron [Not Sharon, it rhymes with "Sarong"] and i am a stay-at-home mum who is obsessed with cactus! I collect cactus "Things" because we live in a climate that doesn't support a lot of cactus plants. I also run a cactus graphics website and i wear a cactus tattoo :o) I love gardening and most of my garden is succulents.

I work part time as a Mystery Shopper [Something like this] and i have a certificate 3 in childcare.

I'm a loud person who isn't very serious,mature or responsible. But i think i'm kinda fun to be with :o) I'm reliable and i'd do anything for anyone within reason.

I like car stuff, all kinds of music [except rap], thriller movies and messy art/craft stuff. John. John is the king of this castle. He rules the roost and what he says, goes. He's kinda quiet and responsible, sensible and an all 'round good guy! He is a quality control technition and he's very good at his job. He plays those dumb testosterone killing games [the game of the moment is World of Warcraft] and enjoys a beer with his TV [with the occasional foot rub]. He's my big cuddly teddy bear and i'd just die without him! Alix. Alix is my 14yo daughter from my previous marriage. [John and i have been married since Alix was 6] In January this year Alix decided to go and live with her father for 12 months [I call him the sperm doner] because like all teenagers, she didn't like the rules we wanted her to keep.

Alix is a very beautiful soul and i look forward to when we can be united again.

Rose. Rose is also from my previous marriage but John is the only dad she's ever known. She was 1yo when John and i got together. She is 10 now. Rose is the mischevious one who is always good for a laugh! She has an awesome sense of humour and i love having her around. But when she's in a bad mood, look out!

She is little miss socialite who is into fashion and freinds as a major priority. She loves animals and they love her. She has a problem with paper as she's crafty too, and always making or drawing something on her bedroom floor. She's also very messy. Mess just seems to follow her around!

Jason. Jason is the baby in the family at 7 years old. He has a speech delay problem and because of this he tends to get away with a lot more than he should! He is a maths & reading wiz and he can beat any console game he plays! I won't have violent games in the house for the kids to play, but we all like racing each other on Mario Kart etc.
We live in western NSW Australia, and we go to a Life More Abundant church.God is a big part of our lives, and a part of every aspect of our lives.
